as the "hottest" events of the year, consistently drawing large, high-level

KPMG
has for the past five years hosted the KPMG Austin High Tech Awards program,
honoring the leading innovators of industry and products in the high tech
community. The awards banquet, which is sponsored by Baker Botts, R.R.
Donnelley Financial, SicolaMartin, and
IKON Office Solutions, attracts over 700 people each year. The 2001 winners
were Applied Science Fiction, Cirrus Logic, ClearCube, 724 Solutions,
The Athens Group, Dell Computer Corp., Grande Communications, and Evacyte.

Greater Austin
Chamber of Commerce Banquet
Each
March, the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce celebrates the accomplishments
and
highlights of the year before, outlines their plan for the coming year,
and honors the "Austinite
of the Year."
Over 800 Chamber members and guests attend this function each year; The
Thompson Group typically hosts two to three tables for our clients and

Austin Under
40
Join
Young Women's Alliance (YWA) and Young Men's Business League (YMBL) to
honor Austin's outstanding leaders under the age of forty who exemplify
superior leadership ability, extraordinary community involvement, or otherwise
demonstrate an outstanding contribution to their field of endeavor. The
event features a dinner, awards ceremony and entertainment. Past honorees
include Lance Armstrong, Reid Ryan, Michael Dell, Representative Dawnna
Dukes, Will Wynn, Christy Jones, and Rachel Muir. The fourth annual event
was held in February

Ernst &
Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards
For
more than ten years, the Austin office of Ernst & Young has hosted
the Entrepreneur of the Year competition, recognizing our community's
outstanding entrepreneurs. Over 700 members of the Greater Austin business
community consistently attend the awards gala, and the winners, who represent
a diversity of industries, go on to the regional and national competitions.
The winners of the 2002 program included Meals On Wheels and More, BroadJump,

Profiles
in Power
For 8 years
the annual Profiles in Power seminar and awards luncheon has been an opportunity
to elevate women achievers that have shown excellence in the workplace
and in the community. The Profiles in Power women demonstrate outstanding
achievement in business, are business owners or members of top management
with a company of any size, and hold a position that contributes to the
success of a for-profit business in the Austin area. 2002 winners included
Madlin Mangrum of 911 Air Cargo Inc., Toya Cirica Cook Haley of Winstead
Sechrest and Minick PC, Johanne Ibsen-Wolford of Siemens Information and

Economics Annual Forecast
Each year Angelos
Angelou, Principal of AngelouEconomics, authors and presents a two-year
economic and technology forecast on the Austin area. The Annual Forecast
