While Pervasive Software is a rapidly growing and successful software company that receives regular industry and national recognition, it has remained a bit of a mystery in its hometown of Austin. One strategy The Thompson Group recommended and implemented for raising Pervasive's local profile was to hold an open house for leaders of Austin's business and technology communities. The purpose of the open house was: to begin to build a "buzz" about Pervasive in Austin; to publicize Pervasive's active recruiting efforts; to expand the visibility of Pervasive's entire management team; to celebrate Pervasive's new offices; to recognize their recent acquisition of Canadian software company Everywhere, Inc; to build excitement about the launch of their new product "Tango;" and to thank employees for their hard work and commitment. The open house was attended by nearly 300 of Austin's "movers and shakers" and the function was featured on the front page of "TechMonday" in the following week's Austin American Statesman. The buzz has begun!
